Resolution
IP CCTV recording systems that Axxess 28
install will support as standard mega-pixel
IP cameras recoding images of up to 6
mega-pixel which is over 14 times the
resolution of a traditional analogue CCTV
camera.
To a decisive degree, the image quality of
live images and recordings determines the
information content and, correspondingly,
the quality of the video surveillance
system. According to the nature of the task
– recognition or non-ambiguous
identification - the image area of every
video surveillance camera must be selected
corresponding to the available resolution to
measure up to the demands.

What is a
network camera?
An Axis, IQEye or Mobotix network
camera can be described as a camera
and computer combined in one
intelligent unit. It captures and
sends live video directly over an IP
network such as a LAN, intranet or
the Internet and enables users to
view and/or manage the camera using
a standard Web browser or video
management software on any local or
remote computer on a network. It
allows authorised viewers from
different locations to
simultaneously access images from
the same network camera.
What is a video server?
A video server digitises traditional
CCTV analogue video signals and
sends digital images directly over
an IP network, such as a LAN,
intranet or Internet. It essentially
turns an analogue video system into
a network video system and enables
users to view live images using a
Web browser or an video management
software on any local or remote
computer on a network. It allows
authorized viewers from different
locations to simultaneously access
images from the same analogue
camera, as well as network cameras
if they are added to the system.
